How to Change Your Email Password in DirectAdmin

  1. Log into your client portal:

  2. Access DirectAdmin:

    • Click on My Services.

    • Select the service linked to your email account.

    • Scroll down and click Login to DirectAdmin.

  3. Navigate to Email Management:

    • In DirectAdmin, go to Email Accounts.

  4. Change the Password:

    • Find the email account you want to update and click Change Password.

    • Enter a new password (ensure it meets security requirements).

    • Click Save.


Password Strength & Security

  • DirectAdmin provides a password strength meter.

  • While you can ignore weak passwords, it is highly discouraged for security reasons.

  • Use a strong password (mix of letters, numbers, and symbols) to protect your account.


Troubleshooting Common Issues

Issue: "I Forgot My Password"

Solution:

  • Follow the steps above to reset your password via DirectAdmin.

  • If you can’t log in to DirectAdmin, use the Forgot Password option in your client portal or contact support.

Issue: "New Password Isn’t Working"

Solution:

  • Ensure you are entering the correct password (case-sensitive).

  • If you copied and pasted the password, check for extra spaces.

  • Try logging out and back in.

Issue: "Can’t Access DirectAdmin"

Solution:

  • Verify you are using the correct login credentials.

  • Ensure your hosting service is active and not suspended.

  • If you forgot your client portal login, use the password recovery option.
